All Aboard for the Frankenstein Trestle Commemoration Special!

150 years ago, on June 29, 1875 a special excursion train took passengers over the Frankenstein Trestle for the first time. Our Frankenstein Trestle Commemoration Special will focus on the difficulties of building a railroad on mountainsides. Special narration will transport guests back in time to when the track was built by hand, assisted only by horse carts, primitive boom cranes, and black powder. The longer than usual round trip will include special stops at the former Bemis Station as well as stops on the Frankenstein Trestle and Willey Brook Bridge along with our usual stops at Crawford station and Fabyans.

What’s Included

This ticket provides a round trip journey from North Conway to Fabyan’s.The train travels both directions using scenic former Maine Central Mountain Division which offers some panoramic views of the the Mount Washington Valley and vistas from the towering Willey Brook and Frankenstein bridges.

Restrictions: No dogs are allowed onboard this car for this event.
Extras: Snack bar onboard the train car is open and available, but not included in ticket price.
Please Note: CONWAY SCENIC RAILROAD NEITHER OFFERS NOR ACCEPTS COUPONS OF ANY KIND—THANK YOU!
