When should we arrive for our train ride with Thomas?
It is recommended that guests arrive at the event at least one hour before their morning scheduled departure, to allow time for parking, etc. For those with 2:30 or 3:15 tickets, plan to arrive at least two hours ahead of time so that you can fully enjoy everything that the event has to offer. Our grounds are open until 4:30, but the last live entertainment set, for example, is 2:15-3:00, and Frodo leaves for home between 3:30 and 4:00.

How long is the train ride?
25 minutes.
Are you limited to just one train ride?
There is one Thomas train ride per ticket, but unlimited motorcar rides.
How do I get to there?
We are located on Routes 16/302 in North Conway Village. Look for our historic 1874 Victorian Station off Schouler Park in the heart of the Village. For approximate travel times and mileage, please visit our website's Getting Here page.
Is there parking available on site?
There is limited parking on the Railroad property itself, but there should be good availability within the surrounding village. TRAFFIC TIP: parallel to Route 16/302, coming from the south, is the "North/South Road:" turn right at the light at Burger King, then turn left at the second light across from Paris Farmers Union. You are now on the North-South Road. Proceed straight through the round-about, and you will be in North Conway Village in about five minutes, with no more lights, and little traffic. All three of the parking lot options below are within easy walking distance of the railroad, with Depot Road being the furthest. As you enter the Village, be sure to look for individual parking spaces, which should be readily available, especially early in the day. Main Street through North Conway (Route 16/302) is to your immediate left coming down the North-South Road.
1. Depot Street Parking: take the first right after Artist Falls Road, which is the first of the Village streets. You will see the "Thomas Parking" sign.
2. Seavey Street Parking: proceed past Artist Falls, Depot, and Grove. Turn left and look for Decades Restaurant on the right. Our "Thomas Parking" sign will be visible. You may park here from 9:00AM until 4:00PM.
3. River Road Parking: continue past Seavey and turn left onto Kearsarge Street. At the light, right onto Main Street, then left at the light immediately past the Eastern Slope Inn onto River Road. Our "Thomas Parking" sign will be on your left. Park anywhere in this lot. You have two options to access the Railroad: (1) for those with strollers or who have difficulty walking, the tunnel would be best. This will bring you to Main Street, and the Railroad is about 1/2 block to your right, or (2) there is a steep access road at the far end of the lot that can also be used as a pedestrian walkway and is the quickest route to the Railroad yard. Is there an additional cost for parking?
No, parking is free.
What if there is inclement weather?
Day Out With Thomas events take place rain or shine.
Are cameras allowed?
Absolutely! Guests are encouraged to capture their Day Out With Thomas memories for their photo album.
Will there be food available?
Yes. Sugar Shakers, serving quality food at fairs, festivals, and events across the US, will be with us again this year. American Grille favorites, plus its famous fresh tomato salad, and fresh-squeezed lemonade all are crowd-pleasers!
Are strollers permitted?
Day Out With Thomas is a family event that welcomes guests of all ages. There is even a designated area for "stroller parking" during the train ride.
Is the event handicap accessible?
We can accommodate most special needs. Pre-event arrangements should be made with Conway Scenic Railroad by calling 603-356-5251.
